Bartramian Audubon Society will have a membership meeting with the program "New Mexico: Birding Wonderland?" at 7 p.m. Monday at Jennings Environmental Education Center, Rt. 528 near the intersection of routes 8 and 173. Meetings are free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. Call 814-437-5858.A birds and nature festival is planned for May 1, 2 and 3 in the Franklin-Oil City area. Nature hikes, bird walks, numerous workshops, and an owl prowl are in the works.

Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will jointly host a free family fly fishing program at Oil Creek State Park from 10 a.m. 2 p.m. April 19. Space is limited to 20 total people on a first-come-first-served basis. Families must have registered in advance and should arrive by 9:45 a.m. To register, call the Oil Creek State Park office at 814-676-5915. Participants are not required to have their fishing license while participating in the program. However, if they wish to fish prior to or after the program, a valid PA fishing license will be required for those 16 and older.
