Butler City Council is moving forward with more upgrades to the city building with the purchase of some new furniture.

Council voted unanimously at a meeting Thursday evening, July 23, to approve a quote from TriState Office Furniture for $27,866. The quote came through COSTARS, the state’s cooperative purchasing program.

“(It includes) some of the things on the second floor, but mainly the third floor and then the first floor,” Mayor Bob Dandoy said.

He said the work does not include council chambers. However, an update can be expected once council has a plan.

“We haven’t figured out what we’re doing up here yet,” Dandoy said.

City clerk Mindy Gall said the purchase includes desks, chairs and shelving for six total offices around the building.

Dandoy said TriState Furniture told city officials to expect delivery roughly eight weeks after the purchase is made.

The replacement of furniture is part of a longer-term effort to repair and upgrade the city building after a pipe burst and caused significant water damage in November 2025. Since then, the building has received new flooring and is set to be rewired in the coming weeks.

“We’re actually hoping before we move everybody in that the wiring is already in place,” Dandoy said.

Following office finalization, Dandoy said city officials will consider what’s next for council chambers and the council workroom.
