Joyann (Gehringer) Sawicki, 58, of Valencia died Thursday at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born Jan. 7, 1952, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late George and Virginia (Stiger) Gehringer Jr.

Joyann centered her life around her family, and she enjoyed camping, candles and collecting Native American artifacts.

She was the beloved wife for 28 years of the late Mitchell J. Sawicki, who died on March 9; loving mother of Lisa Lacey, Robert Barron Jr., Thomas Sawicki, Kirsten McCombs and Steven Sawicki; sister of George Gehringer III; and proud grandmother of Kirk McCombs, Stephanie McCombs, Adrienne Sawicki, Debbie Keeley, Daniel Lacey Jr., Tommy Sawicki Jr., Shane Sawicki, Joyann Lacey, Jacob Lacey, Emily Barron, Robert Barron and Katalina Barron. She is survived by two great-grandsons, Sean and Johnathan McCombs.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Gehringer, and a stepdaughter, Sharon Sawicki.
