Mellon

Priscilla "Sunny" Mellon, 86, of 624 Freeport Road, Freeport, passed away Sunday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler Township.

She was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Springdale.

She had worked at Allegheny Valley Hospital for many years.

She attended the Freeport Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to horse shows in Clarksburg, W.Va., with her daughter.

Surviving are her daughter, Karen (Jim) McCarl of Butler, who was her caregiver for many years; a son, Frank Mellon of Freeport; her sister, Ellen (Nick) Mellon of Curtisville, Allegheny County; and she cherished and loved her grandson, Daniel Lee Roney of Columbus, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank T. Mellon, on Aug. 3, 2002.

Karen would like to thank the nurses at Sunnyview, Monque, Janet and Chris, who helped pull Karen through her mom's illness, and also Linda Costello from the VNA.

Priscilla would like to say goodbye to Esther Ball of Cheswick and her neighbor, Loulla Smock, who was a dear friend.
