Timothy Edward Kennedy, 72, of Prospect, passed away at Butler Memorial Hospital on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 12:11 a.m.

Tim was born in Aiken, S.C., on Jan. 11, 1954, to Charles Edward Kennedy and Evelyn Emogene Radcliffe Kennedy.

Tim married Debra L. Clouse on Aug. 15, 1987. He graduated from Butler High School in 1972. After a lifetime of achievements, working hard and spending time with his wife and daughter; he retired from ARMCO Steel, where he worked as a craneman in the silicon maintenance department, in 2012.

Tim was a true “people person” who had a remarkable ability to connect with others. He was a follower of baseball and sports. He was an avid reader and collector of World War II memorabilia and a lover of travel and spending time with family in the Outer Banks, N.C.

Tim was a car enthusiast with a special fondness for Volkswagens. He was an active member of William H. Miller Lodge No. 769, Butler, and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 45, Butler. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle, and was a member of the former Slippery Rock Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie L., at home; daughter, Rajchel E., of Prospect; and brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas E. Kennedy and William Terry Kennedy.

KENNEDY — The family of Timothy Edward Kennedy, who died Thursday, July 23, 2026, will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 26, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

There will be a Masonic service at 5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home and an Eastern Star service to follow.

Friends will also be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, at the Presbyterian Church of Portersville, 1297 Perry Highway, Portersville, PA 16051. The Rev. Dana Opp, pastor of the church, will be presiding.

Interment will be in the Portersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Presbyterian Church of Portersville and Portersville food pantry.
