PennDOT announced rolling closures on Aug. 6 for work on the Route 422 Shearer Bridge project in Butler and Summit townships.

The rolling closures will occur from 7 to 8 p.m. in 15-minute intervals and affect Route 422 West from the interchange with Routes 38 and 68. A crash truck will stop all traffic about 1.5 miles before the Mitchell Hill Road on-ramp.

The Route 422 East closure will occur from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in 15-minute intervals. A crash truck will stop all traffic to initiate the closure about one mile in advance at the Route 8 interchange.

If inclement weather halts work, closures will be rescheduled for Aug. 10.

The $6.2 million bridge rehabilitation project is estimated to be completed in December 2026.
