Edward Gajdusek
Edward H. Gajdusek, 88, of Saxonburg passed away Sunday at UPMC Passavant.
Born July 4, 1922, in Allison Park, he was the son of Frank Gajdusek and Susana Motznek Gajdusek.
He served in World War II in the Philippines and Hiroshima.
He was a farmer and had retired from Damon & Co. in Glenshaw as a journeyman.
He was a former member of the Saxonburg American Legion.
He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Maryann (Tim) Hiles of Prospect and Cindy (Jeff) Wright of Saxonburg; a sister, Viola Everet of Prairie du Sac, Wis.; three grandchildren, Matthew Hougg, Ashley Senita and Clayton Wright; and two great-granddaughters, Riley Senita and Avery Senita.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria "Patsy" Carlson Gajdusek on June 24, 1991; two brothers, Frank and Arnold; a sister, Ethel Mitrecic; and two grandchildren, Gary Hougg Jr. and Whitney Hiles.
<B>GAJDUSEK</B> — Friends of Edward H. Gajdusek, who died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Deborah Huffmyer officiating.
