Robert B. Sheffler
Robert Bruce Sheffler, 93, of Concordia Lutheran Care in Cabot, formerly of Springdale, Allegheny County, passed away Friday in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 20, 1917, in Derry, Westmoreland County, he was the son of the late Doty Sheffler and Agnes Williamson Sheffler.
He was married to Dorothy I. Snoddy Sheffler on July 13, 1939. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2006.
He was a member of the Springdale United Methodist Church, and he was a retired steelworker with Braeburn Steel in Braeburn, Westmoreland County. He also was a United Methodist lay minister.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.
He was a member of the Springdale Lions Club.
Mr. Sheffler is survived by one son, Bruce Sheffler of Croton, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Meredith and Edward Sheffler; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean, and two brothers, Dean and Wayne.
<B>SHEFFLER</B> — Friends and family of Robert Sheffler, who died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, Butler. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Hartman, chaplain of Concordia Lutheran Care, officiating.Interment will follow in Cole Cemetery, Derry, Pa.
