Elizabeth J. "Betty" Chmielewski, 86, passed away Friday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.

She was born July 8, 1924, in the Garfield section of Pittsburgh, to William John McQuaide and Emily Louise Nicholson McQuaide.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are a daughter, Joan (Mark) Snead of Butler; a son, Thoren Rand of New Orleans; four granddaughters, Tammy and her fiancee, Laird Cole, Shannon, Jasmine and Autumn; and one great-granddaughter, Ashely.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ludwig C. Chmielewski.
