Karyn L. Bowman, 66, of Harmony died peacefully Friday in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

Born April 25, 1944, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Henry and Martha (Wallace) Ammann.

A women of faith, Karyn was an active and supportive member of her community in which she involved herself in the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church as treasurer of the Women's Ministry and was a volunteer with the Angel Food Ministry. She also served on the boards of the Junior Women's Club and the Zelienople Community Park, and she was a former member of the B.P.W. Club of Zelienople and the Harmony Historical Society.

Karyn loved to garden and was a volunteer at Glade Run Lutheran Services. She enjoyed playing golf, and she belonged to the Aubrey's Women's Wednesday Morning Golf Club and the Casuals Golf League at Lake Arthur Country Club.

Additionally, she retired from Veka Inc. after many years of dedicated service.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Gerald C. Bowman, who she married Feb. 6, 1965; two sons, Kurt W. Bowman of the North Hills and Scott W. Bowman and his wife, Diana, of Cranberry Township; a brother, Henry Ammann Jr. of Aliquippa; two sisters, Bryn Marvin and her husband, Kenneth, of Apple Valley, Calif., and Kathryn Waldschmidt of Pittsburgh; two precious grandchildren, Miles and Ava; six nieces; two nephews; Aunt Bertha Wallace of Peters Township; and three cousins.

<B>BOWMAN </B>— The family of Karyn L. Bowman, who died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, will welcome friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Avenue, Zelienople. Funeral services will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, 123 N. Pittsburgh St., Zelienople, with the Rev. Dr. John K. Jefferis, officiating Friends, please meet at the church. Interment will be private by her family.Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, 123 N.
