Bertha Marie Smith, 74, of Newhaven Court, Butler, formerly of Bethel Park, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Friday in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in McDonald on May 13, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Donald Campbell and Mary Ewing Campbell.

Mrs. Smith, a Presbyterian, spent her life raising her children and later worked as a home health care aide. She enjoyed quilting, needlework and studying genealogy.

She is survived by three sons, James K. Smith Jr. of Uniontown; Donald A. Smith and his wife, Lori, of Butler; and Robert S. Smith of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Jamie, Dale, Zachary, Jennifer, Amanda and Abigail; and one sister, Dorothy Parry of McDonald.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.
