3rd PSU player charged in fight

STATE COLLEGE — A third Penn State football player is facing criminal charges in connection with a campus fight.

Defensive tackle Phil Taylor is charged with felony aggravated assault as well as misdemeanor charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Authorities say Taylor, along with two former Penn State players already charged, beat up a man during a dance in October. The victim was treated at the scene in the student union.

Taylor also faces one count of summary harassment and stalking. He was suspended from the team last month.

University police charged Taylor on Monday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 12.

Former players Chris Baker and Navorro Bowman were kicked off the team in January and are awaiting trial.
