Lila Mae 'Flossie' Snyder
Lila Mae “Flossie” Snyder, 82, of Butler died at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Grove City, the daughter of the late Carl Dickey and Lila (McCandless) Dickey.
Flossie was an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 117 and the VFW Post 249.
She was a Protestant.
She had played the organ for 20 years and had a band called “Flossie and the Velvetones.” She enjoyed her music. Her hobby was living her life to the fullest.
Flossie retired as an assistant deputy treasurer from the Butler County Treasurer's office.
Surviving are her daughter, Wanda “Wendy” Shalbot of Renfrew; her son, Harry L. Snyder Jr. of Tarentum; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and her loyal companion, Suzie.
She was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers, and her long time companion, Robert Hovis.
