NEW YORK — A wide array of performers, from actor Tom Cruise to streamer IShowSpeed, will help close out the World Cup, FIFA announced Tuesday.

Soccer's governing body released the lineup for the closing ceremony, which will take place 90 minutes before Sunday's final. The show is meant to “celebrate the 48 teams' unforgettable journey” through 16 host cities across three countries, FIFA said in a statement.

IShowSpeed — who has streamed multiple matches — is listed as a performer, while Cruise — who's also been spotted in the stands and performed a stunt at the Paris Olympics' closing ceremony — is billed as making a “special appearance.” The ceremony will also include performances from Laura Pausini, the Italian singer who helped open the Milan Cortina Olympics in February; Tony winner and Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger; and Robbie Williams, the British singer and former Take That member.

Jennifer Hudson, who boasts the coveted EGOT title with an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony, will perform the U.S. national anthem.

“Echoing the spirit of the opening ceremonies, which welcomed the world to the greatest stage in Canada, Mexico and the United States, the closing ceremony will bring the FIFA World Cup 2026 full circle through music, culture and football, before we kick off the highly anticipated match that will crown the champions of this groundbreaking tournament,” said Heimo Schirgi, the World Cup's chief operating officer.

While Sunday will also feature the tournament's first halftime show, with a bevy of additional A-list performers, closing ceremonies are not exactly new to the World Cup. The closing ceremony is being produced in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio, led by Marco Balich, who orchestrated the 2022 World Cup's opening and closing ceremonies in Qatar.

FIFA has encouraged ticketholders to arrive early, promising that fans “will have an active role to play in the show.” The show begins at 1:30 p.m. at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and kickoff is at 3 p.m.

Late child star Daveigh Chase had $400,000 estate despite living on streets

“The Ring” actress Daveigh Chase, who apparently spent her final years living in an RV on skid row, had an estate worth $400,000 when she died, according to court documents.

Her mother, Cathy Chase, earlier this month asked a Los Angeles Superior Court to appoint her as administrator, according to probate filings obtained by US Weekly. She noted that Chase, who did not leave behind a will, was unmarried and had no children. She also listed the actress’ father, John Schwallier, as a potential “estate descendant,” noting that he “keeps properties in Las Vegas” and that he currently “resides in the Philippines with an unknown address.”

A probate hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 12. In the meantime, Cathy has requested that the court approve a $400,000 bond.

Chase died on June 16 in a Los Angeles hospital at the age of 35 years old. Her father told reporters at the time that she’d been living on the streets before her death, not far the medical facility where she spent her final moments.

According to the Los Angeles medical examiner’s report, Chase’s primary cause of death was acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), with mixed drug use listed as a contributing factor.

Once an in-demand actress, Chase was best known for voicing Lilo in Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” as well as playing haunting villain Samara in the 2002 movie, “The Ring.” She all but disappeared from the spotlight and quit acting altogether in 2016, the same year as her final credited film roles in “American Romance” and Jack Goes Home.”

Then, in 2017, Chase was arrested after she was accused of fleeing the scene and leaving a dying man outside of a hospital. She was not suspected of being involved in his death, but was reportedly wanted on an outstanding warrant at the time.

Zahara Jolie-Pitt takes out ad to announce she’s dropping Brad’s surname

Zahara Jolie-Pitt, the eldest daughter of exes Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, is following in the footsteps of her siblings and looking to legally drop her estranged dad’s surname from her own.

So long as no one objects to the bid by the 21-year-old newly minted college graduate, who filed last month to legally go by Zahara Marley Jolie, a judge can approve the move during a Sept. 28 hearing, TMZ reports.

First, Zahara — who’s already informally dropped the Pitt — had to publish notice of her petition in the Los Angeles Daily Journal for four consecutive weeks, which ended July 7. The notices, in accordance with California legislation, alerted those against the name change to submit a written opposition ahead of said hearing.

Zahara’s 20-year-old sister Shiloh, the exes’ eldest biological child, filed to remove Pitt’s name from hers upon turning 18 in May 2024. By that point, both eldest sibling Maddox and Zahara — both adopted by Jolie in the early 2000s, and later by Pitt — had also stopped using Pitt as part of their moniker, as had Vivienne, one of Jolie and Pitt’s biological twins.

Maddox, 24, formally filed to drop Pitt from his last name in late May 2026 and, if approved, will go by Maddox Chivan Jolie, per Us Weekly at the time.

A Pitt insider told TMZ his circle believes Jolie, 51, is behind the tensions with the 62-year-old “F1” star and their children.

The Pitt-Jolie divorce was a contentious one that settled in late 2024, after eight long years. The Oscar winners — who also share 22-year-old adoptive son Pax as well as Vivienne’s fraternal twin brother Knox, 17 — remain locked in a legal battle over their French winery.
