Senior forward Courtney Hoover scored the lone goal of the game Saturday as the Slippery Rock University women's soccer team defeated Bloomsburg, 1-0, at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

Hoover's goal was her first of the season.

Sophomore forward Ashley Paganie assisted on the goal as SRU(7-1-1), ranked No. 4 in the Atlantic Regional, defeated the seventh-ranked Huskies (7-3).

Rock senior goalie Sarah Lacy had to make only one save in the game.

SRU travels to California (Pa.) for a 2 p.m. game Wednesday.

Men's soccer

Sophomore defender Toby Bowser had a hand in both goals as SRUwon at Millersville, 2-1, Saturday.

Bowser scored off an assist from sophomore midfielder Mitchell Walters in the 15th minute, then assisted on junior forward Jeremy Deighton's game-winning header in the 67th minute.

Millersville had a 15-7 edge in shots on goal, but Rock goalie Greg Blum had nine saves.

The Rock travels to California (Pa.) for a 4 p.m. game Wednesday.
