Chaz Simmer, 3, got a free haircut, then got to sit in a fire truck and meet firefighters at Memorial Park on Thursday.

The park was the site of a community event, hosted by state Rep. Marci Mustello, R-11th, who invited different community organizations to host booths for an evening of community outreach.

Different organizations set up booths, and offered food, games or activities, and merchandise raffles.

Organizations including the Butler Area School District, Butler County Chamber of Commerce, state police and Life Flight were present to meet with community members.

“It's nice to have a night to get some exposure,” said Natalie Wall, assistant director of Butler Meals on Wheels.
