Lyndora woman accused of brandishing knife during fight
A Lyndora woman is accused of brandishing a knife during a fight in Butler.
Kathryn Lucille Lane, 35, was charged Wednesday, July 8, with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault following a June 28 incident.
Police were dispatched June 28 to the 300 block of Negley Avenue for a report of multiple people fighting. Police spoke with a woman at the scene who said the incident began when Lane and Joshua Sean Young, 40, drove through the area and shot fireworks at the woman’s car.
Young was charged June 29 in the same incident with one misdemeanor count each of propelling a missile at a vehicle and simple assault.
Police said the woman proceeded to chase the vehicle down the road. The vehicle then circled the block, and the woman confronted Lane and Young.
Police said during the confrontation, Young exited the vehicle and began threatening the woman. Police said Young then grabbed another woman who was outside by the hair and threw her onto the ground, during which she struck her head on a vehicle.
While Young and the other woman were outside, the woman who spoke with police climbed into the vehicle to confront Lane. Police said Lane presented a knife and attempted to stab the woman while inside the vehicle.
Lane’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
