The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team has earned a berth in the PSAC playoffs.

SRU(13-4-1) clinched a playoff spot by defeating Lock Haven while Mercyhurst lost to Gannon Wednesday.

Currently leading the PSAC West, The Rock must beat or tie California (Pa.) when the two meet Saturday afternoon at Egli Field to maintain the top spot. A SRU loss would send it to California for a first-round playoff game.

If SRU wins the division, it will host either California, Lock Haven or Mercyhurst to begin the playoffs.

SRU junior forward Jeremy Deighton was named to the second-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team. He leads The Rock with 14 goals and has a 3.52 grade point average as a marketing major.
