Von P. Maloney, 84, of Butler passed away at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Butler, to the late Joseph Edgar Hampton and Bessie Pizor Hampton.

Mrs. Maloney was a bookkeeper at Friedman's Supermarkets. She retired as office manager in 1989 after 23 years of service.

She volunteered at Butler Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Maloney enjoyed bowling and was a former member of the Monday Night Bowlerettes and the St. Paul's United Church of Christ bowling league.

For many years, she was interested in quilting bed quilts and other quilted items.

Mrs. Maloney is survived by two sons, Larry J. Maloney and his wife, Peg, of Newburg, Ind., and Edgar F. Maloney and his wife, Denise, of New Albany, Ohio; one daughter, Karen Maloney of Butler; five grandsons; and a number of nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Maloney, who passed away May 25, 1982.

<B>MALONEY </B>— Friends of Von P. Maloney, who died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Gary A. Koontz of Christ’s Outreach Church officiating.
