WVU linebacker won't play in bowl
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Backup linebacker Archie Sims won't be playing for West Virginia in next week's Meineke Bowl.
Coach Bill Stewart said Friday that Sims didn't meet NCAA eligibility requirements.
Sims was hampered by injuries most of the season and saw limited action on the field. He was used mostly on special teams and finished with seven tackles for the year.
Sims is the Mountaineers' only casualty for the Dec. 27 bowl game against North Carolina in Charlotte, N.C.
