Robert C. Mershimer, 76, of Grove City died at 10:02 a.m. Wednesday in the Grove City Medical Center.

He was born in Slippery Rock on Jan. 18, 1935, the son of Clyde Mershimer and H. Leona (Campbell) Mershimer.

He married Joanne M. (Buchanan) Mershimer on May 9, 1953.

Robert was a press brake operator at Reznor in Mercer for 27 years, and he also was a self-employed carpet installer.

He was a Protestant and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid hunter, and he enjoyed antique cars.

Robert is survived by his wife, Joanne M. Mershimer; one daughter, Judy A. Mershimer of Delray Beach, Fla.; one son, Jerry L. Mershimer and his wife, Lori, of Otto, N.C.; five grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Sadler of Grove City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
