Walker

Rex L. Walker, 82, formerly of Center Church Road, Pine Township, passed away at the Grove City Medical Center at 2:05 a.m. Saturday following a one-year illness.

He was born in Butler on May 27, 1929, to Roy Robert Walker and Clara Lucille Porterfield Walker.

He married Nancy Ann Stuart on June 14, 1942.

Rex graduated from Grove City College, Class of 1957, with a B.S. in Accounting. Rex was a retired accountant, and he formerly owned Rex Walker and Associates in Grove City for many years.

He attended the Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City.

Rex served as a S/SGT with the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Grove City F&AM Lodge 603, New Castle Consistory, a former member of the Grove City Elks Club, and a member and former secretary of the Grove City Country Club. He also enjoyed golf, hunting, family and friends.

His survivors are his wife, Nancy, of Grove City; one daughter, Diane Goble and her husband, Barry, of Aliquippa; one son, Roy Richard “Rick” Walker and his wife, Janice, of Kernersville, N.C.; his grandchildren, David, Greg and Jennifer Goble, and Todd and Amy Walker; a great-grandson, Dylan Goble; one brother, Richard O. Walker and his wife, Carol, of Butler; one half-sister, Dawn Matich, of Michigan; and two half-brothers, Ryan and Robert Walker, both of Michigan.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents.

<B>WALKER — </B>Funeral services for Rex L. Walker, who died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, will be at <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, at noon Tuesday with the Rev. Willard Morse, visitation pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon on Tuesday.Burial will be at Center Church Cemetery, Pine Township, Grove City.
