John Edward Shea, 92, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 5, 1919, in Summerville, Pa., the son of the late Thomas M. and Oscie (Martin) Shea.

John was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was a member of the Kiwanis and the Rotary clubs, the Masons, and the Syria Shrine. He enjoyed golfing.

John worked for the Crane Co. locally as a branch manager for 14 years and then as the Midwest manager for 35 years in Chicago before retiring.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Ora W. Shea; a sister, Margaret Coles of Blending, Utah; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Norris and Ruth Buzas.

<B>SHEA</B> — Friends of John Edward Shea, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, will be received at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. Saturday. Military honors will be given by the VFW 249 and the American Legion 778.
