Cranberry Township prepares for rebranded community event
Evolution is afoot in Cranberry Township as Cranberry Township Community Chest’s Community Days is being rebranded to Cranberry Summer Nights.
The event is in collaboration with Cranberry Township and the Cranberry Foundation, which is also celebrating its 50th anniversary. According to the foundation’s website, attendees should expect music, art, fun and community spirit set against a backdrop of twinkling lights.
It is slated to take place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 9, through Saturday, July 11, at Cranberry Township Community Park, 111 Ernie Mashuda Drive, Cranberry Township.
“Cranberry Summer Nights reflects how our community has evolved while honoring the traditions that have brought generations together,” said Tina Fedko, Cranberry Township communications director. “As Cranberry Township has grown, we saw an opportunity to create an event that better captures the energy, vibrancy and experiences that our residents are looking for today. While the name is changing, the heart of the event remains the same.”
According to Fedko, guests will still find the same things they have come to love over the years, including live music, food, amusement rides, the Cruisin’ Cranberry Car Show, Cranberry Chase 5K, Cranberry Lion’s Pancake breakfast, the Kids Zone featuring mascot visits and Saturday night fireworks.
She added one of the biggest differences this year — along with the rebranding — is new hours that avoid the extreme afternoon heat. The Terrace is also a new feature, offering a ticketed hospitality experience for those age 21 and over, featuring catered food, climate-controlled seating, reserved parking and drinks available for purchase.
“We're excited for the community to experience everything Cranberry Summer Nights has to offer this year,” Fedko said. “From incredible live music, delicious food, car cruise, wine and ale garden, carnival rides and our expanded artisan vendor market to Kids Day on Saturday, featuring area mascots and family-friendly activities, there's truly something for every age to enjoy throughout the three days.”
