Clara Mae Poth, 97, of Mars died Sunday at St. John's Specialty Care Center, Mars.

Born Dec. 29, 1914, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Rose Marie Rausch Nist.

Mrs. Poth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mars and was an avid card and bingo player.

She is survived by two sons, Howard J. (Marilyn) Poth of Plum Borough and Robert E. Poth of Evans City; six grandchildren, Col. Joseph Poth, Dr. Robert Poth, Tim Poth, Leeanne Nedz, Amy Leisenring and Brian Poth; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. Poth, on Jan. 21, 2000; three brothers; and one sister.

Main St., Evans City.A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Beaver St., Mars, with the Rev. Mark Bringman officiating.
