Summer events at Zelienople library announced
Zelienople Area Public Library will host a number of events this summer. Families can still sign up for the library’s ongoing Summer Reading Program, which will continue through Aug. 8.
• The used book sale will return July 15 to 18, during the Horse Trading Days Festival. Also during the festival, a basket raffle will be held on Main Street.
• The library is organizing a trip to the Depreciation Lands Museum in Hampton Township, Allegheny County, Sunday, Aug. 2, and can cover admission costs for a limited number of attendees, supported by a PBS grant. Participants are expected to arrange their own transportation to the location.
• This year’s Shutterbug Showdown Amateur Photography Contest will accept entries from Aug. 10 to 24. The theme is “Keep It Local/Butler County.” Anyone with a library card can enter. There is a $10 entry fee, which covers two photo submissions. There will be a vote for the content at the library from Aug. 29 through Sept. 10.
• The library’s Wine Walk, which was postponed from June, has been rescheduled for Sept. 19. The fundraiser will take place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. in the streets of historic Harmony Borough. All proceeds from the event will go toward the library.
