Edna Mae Ray

Edna Mae Ray, 87, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday in the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

She was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Harrisville, and was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Sarah Taylor Hovis.

Her hobbies were crossword puzzles, flower gardening, growing and caring for her tomatoes and loving her Collie dog, Tucker. Her greatest memory to share was of her sons, Bud and John, playing guitar with their dad.

She is survived by her children, Sarah L. Ray of Fairfield, Calif., Howard E. “Bud” Ray Jr. of Lawrenceville, Patricia A. (James) Perry of St. Stephens Church, Va., Delbert Johnny Ray of Darlington and James E. Ray of Mercer; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her longtime friend, Mary Lou Weiz of Portersville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Ray Sr., who passed away April 10, 2003, and four brothers.

<B>RAY</B> — Visitation for Edna Mae Ray, who passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012, will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon on Saturday in the <B>Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home</B>, 387 Main St., Prospect. Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.The family suggests memorial donations to the Raisley Funeral Home, P.O.
