Richard N. Bernsteil, 82, of Butler passed away Wednesday at VA Butler Healthcare.

He was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Butler, the son of the late Ralph and Elva (Riggo) Bernsteil.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired after 22½ years of military service.

He also was preceded in death by his wife, Lotte (Baumann) Bernsteil.
