Gladys V. Bergmark Herold
Gladys V. Bergmark Herold, 93, recently of Mars, died Saturday at her home after a long illness.
A 63-year resident of Gibsonia, Gladys led an active life until stricken with cancer at 91. Until recently, she enjoyed weekly bridge games and practicing yoga, which she taught at her church.
She retired from the former SouthWest Petrochem in 1989.
She traveled with Elderhostel and took her children and grandchildren on sailing and beach vacations. She was active at the Trinity Lutheran Church, which she attended for 64 years.
She attended Pennsylvania College for Women, now Chatham University, and Penn State, where she received certification in chemistry and metallurgy. During World War II, she worked for Hamilton Standard Propellers.
She was the wife of William C. Herold, who died in 1968. Surviving are her four children, their spouses and seven grandchildren.
HEROLD — A memorial service for Gladys V. Bergmark Herold, who died Saturday, June 16, 2012, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 3832 Gibsonia Road, Gibsonia.
