Patrick McGee

Patrick H. McGee, 88, of Butler died Monday afternoon at his home.

Born April 1, 1924, he was a son of the late Paul and Margaret (Nugent) McGee.

He was retired from the Armco Steel Plant, now AK Steel, in Butler.

He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and was an avid hunter, fisherman, Pittsburgh Pirates fan and a Nascar fan.

A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his son, Patrick McGee and his wife, Shirley, of Butler; five grandchildren, Amanda (Nick) Supik of Butler, Audrey (Justin) Bowser of Butler, Ashley McGee of Woodbridge, Va., and Melinda McGee and Tim McGee, both of York, Pa.; three great-grandchildren, Kylie Bowser, Kennedi Bowser and Jeremiah McGee.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joy McGee, who he married April 26, 1950, and who died Sept. 9, 1995; a son, Robert McGee; six brothers, Tom, Don, Jack, Paul, Bob and Mark; and a sister, Elizabeth, who died at birth.

MCGEE — Friends of Patrick H. McGee, who died Monday, July 2, 2012, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.The St. Paul's Catholic Women will recite the rosary at 9:40 a.m. Friday at the church.
