Robert G. “Rob” Atkinson, 44, of Jupiter, Fla., formerly of Mars, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at his home.

Born in Mars on Jan. 11, 1968, he was the son of Harold R. and Lois E. Harris Atkinson of Canton, N.C.

He was a certified aviation repairman and worked for Avstar in Jupiter, Fla.

In addition to his parents, surviving are his son, Zachary Atkinson and his fiancée, Joey Nicole Della-Guistina, of Canton, N.C.; a daughter, Victoria Douglass and her husband, Jeremy, of Cabot; a granddaughter, Ivy Ray; a brother, Jeffrey Atkinson and his wife, Cathy, of Sacramento, Calif.; and many aunts and uncles.

ATKINSON — Friends of Robert G. “Rob” Atkinson, who died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, will be received at the Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday. Services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Peter deVries, pastor, officiating.
