Marie E. "Betty" Ross, 87, of Butler died Saturday at Sunnyview Home.

Born Feb. 17, 1920, in Chicora, she was a daughter of Raymond and Frances Slater Landgraf.

During World War II, she worked at the Bantam Car Co. She later worked at Loblaws grocery store in Butler for 21 years until the store closed in 1972. She then worked at Magnetics in East Butler for 13 years until her retirement in 1985.

Mrs. Ross was active in the Butler area. She was a member of the Tanglewood Senior Center, the 60 Plus Senior Center, AARP, the Line Dancing and Clogging group and the Tin Pan Band. She was a former member of the VFW Post 249 Auxiliary.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Judith) Gilliland of Meridian and Mrs. James (Jean) Sacco of Coatesville; a sister, Mrs. Susan Steighner of Butler; five grandchildren, Daniel E. Gilliland and his wife, Kimberly, of Troy, Mrs. Doug (Lori) Bopp of Westminster, Md., Mrs. Chuck (Janene) Veazey of Butler, Corinne Sacco of Exton and Eric Sacco of Coatesville; seven great-grandchildren, Brandt, Mackenzie, Brendal, Landon and Tauryn Gilliland, and Taylor and Morgan Bopp; and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Alfred and Leo Landgraf, preceded her in death.

<B>ROSS </B>— Friends of Marie E. "Betty" Ross, who died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
