Virginia B. Bensley Newcomer, 94, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Gibsonia, passed away Monday.

Born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., on June 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Maurice D. and Winifred (Tickner) Bensley.

She was the beloved wife for 72 years of Martin Newcomer; loving mother of Martin Newcomer IV, J. David Newcomer, William T. Newcomer and Janet N. Crone; and sister of the late John T. Bensley. She also is survived by seven grandchildren.

Virginia was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Design degree, and she was a member of Pi Beta Phi.

NEWCOMER — Family and friends of Virginia B. Bensley Newcomer, who passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, are invited to a memorial service in the auditorium of Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012.
