Josephine Green

Josephine M. “Joey” Green, 95, of Butler passed away at 10:55 a.m. Saturday at the Sugar Creek Rest Home, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County.

She was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Butler to the late Fedele Cicco and Ernesta L. Menniti Cicco.

Mrs. Green was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. In her younger years, Joey enjoyed her two grandchildren, cooking, baking, crocheting, travel and going to church. She taught CCD for many years at the St. John Catholic Church.

She will be fondly remembered by her son, Joseph Green and his wife, Cindy; two grandchildren, Amanda Green and Justin Green, and a great-grandson, Dalton, all of Fenelton; one brother, Frank N. Cicco of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, P. Joseph Green, who passed away Jan. 24, 1980, and by an infant daughter.

GREEN — Friends of Josephine M. “Joey” Green, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with Father Harry R. Bielewicz officiating. A private burial will take place in the St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery, Coylesville, PA.Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001.St. Paul's Catholic Women will recite the Rosary at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
