Helen E. Hoover

Helen E. Hoover, 88, of Gibsonia, Richland Township, died Sunday afternoon at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Township.

Born in Beaver Falls on Aug. 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late William and Iva Meybin Elliott.

A homemaker, Mrs. Hoover was a member of the North Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of more than 30 years of Beta Sigma Phi.

She loved crafts and crocheting and enjoyed reading.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Leones of Gibsonia and Patricia Nicholson and her husband, Jan, of Sarver; a son, Raymond C. Hoover Jr. and his wife, Cynthia, of Athens, Ga.; her grandchildren, Bryan Leones, Rachel, Abigail and Julia Hoover, Jan Nicholson III, and his wife, Jamie Lou, Jamie, Jonathan, Daniel and Jason Nicholson; and her great-grandchildren, Anni and Jaxon Nicholson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Hoover, who she married on Feb. 14, 1953, and who died on Aug. 25, 2007; her sisters, Pearl Elliott and Jane Brauer; and her brothers, James and William Elliott.

HOOVER — Friends of Helen E. Hoover, who died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, McKees Rocks, Pa.Directions and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
