Howard E. McCandless, 83, of Stoneboro, Mercer County, died Wednesday afternoon at Grove Manor in Grove City.

Born in Harmony on March 14, 1929, he was the son of the late Harold and Olive Lutz McCandless.

Howard had worked as a laborer.

He was the brother of Betty Luntz (Leland) of Texas, Lois Nye of Fombell, Harold Richard McCandless of Texas and Gerald “Pete” McCandless of Mars. He also is survived by nieces and nephews.

MCCANDLESS — Arrangements for Howard E. McCandless, who died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, are private under the direction of the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, Adams Township.

Memorials may be made to the Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, PA 16046.
