Carnie W. Grove

Carnie W. Grove, 84, of Eau Claire passed away Monday morning at Trinity Living Center in Grove City following an illness.

Born in Parker, on Nov. 21, 1928, he was the son of the late Wesley and Kathryn Whitling Grove.

Mr. Grove retired in 1990 from the former Cooper Energy Services in Grove City where he had worked for more than 34 years. At retirement, he was a lathe operator specialist.

Carnie served from Feb. 14, 1951 to Feb. 1, 1953, with the U.S. Army in the Pacific area of operations and was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal.

He was a longtime member of the Eau Claire Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Dolores E. Polm Grove, who he married June 19, 1954; one son and his wife, Bradley “Brad” and Cheryl Grove of Grand Haven, Mich.; three grandchildren, Carley, Zachary and Emma Grove, all of Michigan; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Grove and a sister, Pearl Altman.

GROVE — Friends of Carnie W. Grove, who passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Washington St., Eau Claire, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
