Yvonne Wonderly

J. Yvonne “Bonnie” Wonderly, 82, of Butler passed away at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born June 22, 1930, in Butler to the late Kenneth C. Wonderly and Hazel Viola Knox Wonderly.

Bonnie was a first grade teacher for 37 years, primarily at Center Township Elementary School. She attended Houghton College for two years and received her bachelor of education degree in early childhood from the State Teachers College in Clarion.

Bonnie is survived by one sister, Carol Beth Russell and her husband, Stephen, of Butler; two nieces, Stacey Russell and Stephanie Russell; one aunt, Ida Miller of Butler; and cousins.

Bonnie was an extraordinarily proud and adoring aunt to her beloved nieces, Stacey and Stephanie Russell. Her legacy of love and faith will be cherished for the rest of their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be no public viewing at her request.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler, with Pastor Patricia Nelson of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
