William Kenneth 'Bill' Garver
William Kenneth “Bill” Garver, 95, of Zelienople passed away Wednesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born Feb. 13, 1917, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Frederick and Hettie (Smith) Garver.
Bill was a member of the English Lutheran Church since 1962, where he served on the church council.
He worked for the Diamond Milling Feed Store in New Brighton, and was a mail carrier in Wexford for more than 20 years. After many years of dedicated service, Bill happily retired in 1982.
He was an avid bowler with the Wexford Men's Bowling League at Mars Lanes. Bill was a true comedian and jokester whose outgoing personality and stories kept the attention of so many throughout his life. Remarkably, he enjoyed vegetable gardening until the age of 93 and loved watching football, especially the Steelers.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 72 years, Ruth Elizabeth (Heurich) Garver; his son-in-law, Loyal Burr of Evans City; his three grandchildren, Josh Burr and his wife, Jennifer, of Butler, Jason Burr of Evans City and Jodie Volchko and her husband, Mike, of Butler; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden and Ashton Burr and Hailey Volchko.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Ruth Garver; his granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Burr; and several brothers and sisters.

Bill's family will welcome friends from 2 p.m. until the time of a funeral ceremony at 4 p.m. Saturday at Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Robert A.
