A 28-9 run to open the second half helped the Slippery Rock University men's basketball team to a 78-63 victory over the University of District of Columbia Friday.
The win opened the first day of the 45th annual Pocono Classic in East Stroudsburg and was the fourth in as many games for The Rock.
The win also was its 12th consecutive regular-season victory.
SRU led 29-28 at the break before opening a 57-37 advantage midway through the second half.
Jabril Bailey had 18 points and 14 rebounds, and Michael Evans Jr. added 17 points. Maurice Douglas had 11 points, Maron Brown had nine rebounds and had Cecil Brown nine assists.
• Despite 18 points from Ashley Campbell (Karns City) and 10 points from Pam Gagen (Knoch), the Butler County Community College women's basketball team fell to Pitt-Titusville 60-45 Friday.
The Pioneers (2-4) host Penn State-DuBois Thursday.
