Morton may miss next start for Bucs
ARLINGTON, Texas — The Pittsburgh Pirates aren’t sure if right-hander Charlie Morton will be able to make his next start.
Morton returned to Pittsburgh to receive medical attention after injuring his left foot in Sunday’s game at St. Louis. He is expected to rejoin the team in Texas.
Manager Clint Hurdle said Monday the Pirates anticipate Morton throwing his next side session in Texas.
With 17 active pitchers on the roster, the Pirates have options if Morton can’t make his scheduled start this weekend.
