Hays

Earl Laird Hays, 98, of Saxonburg, passed away Friday at the Saxony Health Center.

Born Nov. 4, 1914, in Valencia, he was the son of Floyd and Fannie Steiner Hays.

He worked as an inspector for Peoples Natural Gas. Earl spent his early life on the Hays farm in Valencia. After retirement, Earl returned to his first love — farming. He also enjoyed gardening and hunting.

Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl (John) Campbell of Saxonburg, Jackie (William) Yerger of Saxonburg and Donna (Dave Miller) Delancey of Saxonburg; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Snyder Hays; one infant son; one sister, Mary Hays Morgan; and three brothers, Clarence, Ray and Junior Hays.

HAYS — Friends of Earl Laird Hays, who died Friday, April 26, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Glade Run Cemetery.
