EDINBORO — Maron Brown scored a game-high 26 points and added 10 rebounds, but the Slippery Rock University men's basketball team fell to Edinboro University 82-80 on Saturday.

Jabril Bailey chipped in with 12 points and eight rebounds and Cecil Brown added 13 points for The Rock (12-3, 1-1), who lost for the third time in five games.

SRU had a chance to send the game into overtime with 3.9 seconds left when Maurice Douglas was unable to convert both ends of a one-and-one free-throw opportunity.

Women's Basketball

Despite performances by freshmen Amanda Mikatavage (13 points), Alex Beatty (10 points) and Emilee Vitez (seven rebounds), The Rock (3-12, 0-2) dropped a 76-55 decision to Edinboro University Saturday.
