The conference playoff hopes for the Slippery Rock University men's basketball team got a little dimmer Wednesday.

The Rock shot just 38 percent from the floor in a 79-65 PSAC West loss at California (Pa.) University.

Maron Brown and Jabril Bailey each scored 14 points for SRU (13-7, 2-5), which has lost five of its last seven games.

Andrew Young scored 23 points for Cal (13-9, 1-6), which shot 49 percent from the field.

Slippery Rock suffered a 97-47 loss at No. 22 California (Pa.) University.The numbers were bleak for The Rock (4-16, 1-6).SRU was outrebounded 50-24.
