Elmerine 'Enie' Spahn
Elmerine “Enie” Spahn, 93, of Butler died Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 3, 1920, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Agnes (McDermott) Jackman.
She was a housewife and mother. She previously worked for Castle Rubber and the Bantam car works.
She was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and a member of the choir for 50 years. She loved to sing.
She was the wife of the late Leroy H. Spahn, who died March 5, 1991. They were married July 30, 1946.
She is survived by three children, Dean (Debbie) Spahn of Butler, Marsha (James) Alvino of Butler and Keith Spahn of Butler; two grandchildren, Deena (Casey) Schaal of Lower Burrell, Pa., and Derek Spahn of Butler and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
SPAHN — Friends of Elmerine “Enie” Spahn, who died Saturday, June 1, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
