Butler High graduate Jenna Geibel smacked a two-run home run and Knoch graduate Kirsten Brant added a solo shot to lift the Slippery Rock University softball team to a 3-2 victory over host Gannon Tuesday in the second game of a doubleheader.
The instant offense came in support of winning pitcher, Shauna Walker, who allowed two runs on four hits while striking out five and walking one.
The Rock (22-17, 5-7) lost Tuesday's first game, collecting six hits in a 1-0 defeat.
Junior Mitch Monas' one-out single in the top of the seventh inning scored Matt Howard with the eventual winning run in SRU's 13-12 win over Seton Hill.Adam Jury went 4-for-6 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored for The Rock (19-18, 11-9).Sophomore left-hander John Thomas was credited with the win, despite allowing eight earned runs on seven hits in relief. He struck out two and walked one.
