COLLEGE ROUNDUP

The Slippery Rock University women's tennis team earned a berth in the PSAC championship match with a 5-2 win over host Bloomsburg Friday.

The win was the third straight for The Rock (19-4), which will face California (Pa.) Saturday. The title match appearance is SRU's second in three seasons. The team lost 5-0 to California in 2008.

The win Friday avenged a 5-4 loss earlier this season and might have earned The Rock a host role in next month's first- and second-round matches of the NCAA Division II tournament.

The Rock's top three singles players, Laura Handy, Sarah Lynch and Dunja Drmac, each won their respective matches and Handy and Drmac teamed at No. 1 doubles for another win.
