West Chester overcame a 4-0, first-inning deficit to beat Slippery Rock University 7-6 in the first round of the PSAC Baseball Tournament Wednesday in Johnstown.
Jamison Walck went 3-for-4, including a triple, and two RBI for SRU.
Zach Jeney started for The Rock (25-22), but gave up four earned runs in only a third of an inning before being relieved by Joby Lapkowicz.
SRU led 5-4 and then trailed 6-5 before knotting the game up at 6 in the fifth, sparked by Mitch Monas' leadoff double.
West Chester scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth frame, thanks to an RBI-double by Kyle Orensky.
Lapkowicz took the loss after pitching 7 2/3 innings, allowing three unearned runs on five hits while striking out five and walking five.
SRU was slated to face Mansfield at 9:30 a.m. today in an elimination game.
