The Slippery Rock University baseball team collected 30 hits, including 17 for extra bases, to post a 16-8 and 10-2 doubleheader sweep over West Liberty (W.Va.) University Tuesday.

In the first game, Jamison Walck smacked a three-run home run, then Mitchell Monas had a pair of homers and Adam Jury had one in the nightcap.

Walck finished with five hits in eight at-bats, four RBI and five runs scored. Monas had four RBI and two runs, and Jury had three hits, two RBI and two runs.

Matt Kosik was 5-for-7, including three doubles and five RBI, in the first game and five runs total, Carter Haponski was 3-for-3 with two RBI and Jacob Oswalt had three doubles and three RBI for SRU (23-20).

Jessica Hilborn captured a 6-2, 6-2 win in No. 5 singles to secure SRU's 5-1 victory over Mercyhurst in the PSAC quarterfinals Tuesday.Dunja Drmac recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles after she and Laura Handy won an 8-1 decision at No. 1 doubles while Sarah Lynch won 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 2 singles.SRU (18-4) plays Bloomsburg in the semifinals Saturday.
