Dorothy M. Fox, 88, of Butler, formerly of Mars, died Monday evening at VNA Inpatient Hospice Unit in Butler.

Born in Mars on Nov. 3, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lydia McCandless.

Dorothy had been a bank teller at Mars National Bank and had previously worked at Merchant's Bank in Kittanning.

She had attended the St. John Lutheran Church in Mars.

Surviving are her sons, William Paul Fox and his wife, Nancy, of Broadlands, Va., and Robert J. Fox and his wife, Kimberly, of Kittanning, and her granddaughters, Lauren and Amy Fox.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence M. Fox, who she married on July 12, 1947, and who died on March 15, 2001. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Thayer Pallan, and her brothers, Clarence, Paul and Kenneth McCandless.
